About
Janice Byer
Professional Photographer & Digital Artist
Photography has been one of my passions for as long as I can remember… it runs in my family. My dad and uncle are two photographers I admire. Their work is exceptional and I strive to be as successful as they have been. Thankfully, their talent must be in my blood as my own photography business has been quite successful and I love what I do.

In 2021, during the height of the Covid pandemic when both of our small businesses were taking a big hit, my husband and I decided to move to New Brunswick and I am so glad we did. This province has so much beauty and is amazing for photographers like me. I have taken photos from all over, of all different subjects, and now have a huge library of photos that make great prints and canvases for home and office decor.
I have also been a web designer for 25 years and specialize in equine related websites (http://www.equinewebdesign.ca) and budget-friendly small business websites (http://www.smallbizwebsites.ca).
During my 25 years as a small business owner, I have had many opportunities to write and publish articles and editorials on a variety of business related topics and offer Photojournalism for media outlets in need of content for their publications and websites.
On a personal note, I am a wife, mother and avid DIYer. We have a small farm for our 2 horses, 1 dog & 2 cats and enjoy the gorgeous views of the Northumberland Strait in New Brunswick while I work.

“Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
I started by making photos of just about anything. All aspects of nature have fascinated me and capturing birds, landscapes, wildlife and sunsets is extremely rewarding.
However, as a horse owner and animal lover, making photographic memories of horses, dogs, cats and other pets, along with their humans, is truly my passion. So, in 2010, I began to focus my attention on the equine industry and started Life With Horses Photography. Whether it’s candid shots of our own horses and pets; portrait sessions with animals and their humans; standing by the show ring to capture horses in competition; or documenting a story with photos for media outlets, I love it all and look forward to each and every time I get to capture a horse or pet in all their glory. More information about what I offer for equine clients can be found on my Life With Horses Photography website.
